Explore our FAQs to gain insights into your wound care queries. Let us guide you through your healing journey with knowledgeable support.
How different is your wound management from that of other wound specialists?
We employ placental tissue membranes engineered to function as soft tissue coverings, wound dressings, and protective barriers for various chronic wounds. Our graft membrane is sourced from human placental tissues, encompassing amnion, amnion/chorion, and umbilical cord components. It taps into the natural healing properties of the amniotic membrane to facilitate effective and efficient wound healing.
Does chorion have an immune response?
The tissue membrane exhibits immune-privileged attributes that allow it to regulate the immune response and reduce excessive inflammation. Additionally, its angiogenic qualities stimulate the development of fresh blood vessels, improving tissue circulation and facilitating effective wound healing.
What happens if I have a home health nurse that does the wound care for me?
You may continue your home health services if your home health team is managing other conditions besides your wound. Our specialists will be working on your wound on a weekly basis. The home health nurse may change the outside dressing if compromised but cannot apply or replace the tissue membrane.
Do I need to go to the wound clinic to get this applied?
No. Our specialists come to your home while on a wound therapy program.
Who is an ideal candidate for this tissue membrane?
Patients with the following conditions whose wounds have been nonhealing or non-progressing the last 30 days:
- Pressure Ulcer
- Diabetic Foot Ulcer
- Venous Leg Ulcer
- Surgical Wounds
- Arterial Ulcer
- Burns
- Traumatic Wounds
Can you name some of the advantages of Amniotic Tissue Membranes?
- Improved and faster wound healing
- Reduced infection rates
- Reduced complications
- Reduced hospitalization rates related to wound deterioration
What if the patient does not qualify for amniotic membrane, do you provide alternative wound care treatment?
Yes. We would be more than happy to evaluate you or your loved one for alternative wound care protocols. If you are under the care of a home health agency, we would be more than happy to collaborate with your home health agency for wound management.
